i spent years at school argueing with dick head math teachers about this shit in uk and oz . The maths teacher in england said after explaining it twice , Dont you want to learn how to do this ? . I said no so that was the end of that !. ( first mistake she made was making me stay back after every one had gone home ), ( second mistake was thinking staying back was going to make any differance to the out come . Then they turnd around and went metric so it wasnt worth learning as i had been saying all they were doing was wasting my time !.

Add the whole numbers to get 13 and add the numerators to get 12/8. The 12/8 is really 8/8 plus 4/8 which increases 13 to 14 and the 4/8 reduces to 1/2, This leaves a final answer of 14 and 1/2,
At 12:04, the 4 should have been a 2 -- oops!
